Provident. Pożyczki w provident już pewien okres temu zyskały wielką popularność. Po wprowadzeniu tych modyfikacji jeszcze więcej zyskają.

Asif Azim, is a top ramp model of Bangladesh and has adorned almost all the glitzy showbiz locations. In another life though, he lived in Lalbagh and was one these very people. He is one of their very own and also one who provides an inspiration for the many who live here.

“I wanted to be a model since my teenage days,” confesses Asif with a grin when asked. Yes I’m talking about Asif Azim, one of Bangladesh’s pioneering ramp models. And we tracked down this six-foot-one Piscean to tell us a little about how he got on to most of Dhaka’s billboards.

Azim grew up in Meherpur. A small town boy with big dreams, he moved to Dhaka to study Economics at the University of Dhaka. It was during his second year in university when he went to a store opening to see if he could have an audience with designer Bibi Russell. Her words of advice? Finishing his education, because without it, she said, he wouldn’t get too far. He took her words as a mantra while allowing himself to do small modelling jobs for clothing stores such as Altamira (2001). But once he completed his Bachelors, Azim started to train rigorously under the eye of Russell.

His first big break came in 2002 when he landed a ramp rig with Indian designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee who was having a show in Dhaka. He then caught the eye of South African photographer Neo Ntsoma who was in town for a documentary photo shoot. Ntsoma’s photographs of Azim appeared in Parisian magazine Saolo (2002) and they also made their way to Unitrend.

Till that point, Azim had been very selective about doing editorial shoots or any sort of product campaigns, because he felt he couldn’t give it enough time. But when Unitrend approached him with a campaign for Siemens (2002), he wisely agreed. The Siemens ad led to the Aktel campaign (2003) and that is exactly how he landed on most of the billboards in town!

After the Aktel job, he became a full-fledged ramp model. Meanwhile, he started getting a lot of offers to do commercials, editorial shoots and even movies but he didn’t take them up because he wanted to do quality work.

In 2004, he went to India to shoot a commercial for Aarong where he was exposed to more people in the media. He got further offers but still didn’t take any of them. He then met style and fashion guru Prasad Bidappa who saw a lot of potential in him and asked him if he was interested in spreading his horizon as far as India. At that time not being well acquainted with Bidappa’s work, he didn’t take the offer seriously. Instead, he went to Australia for a BGMEA show. Then during the model screening of the first Bangladesh Fashion Week, he ran into Prasad Bidappa again. Once the Fashion Week was over, Azim went to Spain for yet another fashion show.

In the meanwhile, he kept Bidappa’s offer in mind. Upon returning to Dhaka, he decided to go and check out the modelling scene in Bangalore. And from there, as the cliché
goes, it was history. Now, after almost a year Azim can proudly say that he has modelled for most of India’s best designers such as Manish Malhotra, Rohit Bal, Sunit Verma, Tarun Tahiliani, Rajesh Pratap Singh, and Hemant Trivedi to name a few. His modelling has taken him from training zone Bangalore to modelling haven Mumbai.

Azim has two goals. One, to become an internationally recognized model, and more importantly, two, to help enhance and develop the modelling industry in Bangladesh. A face that has made Bangladesh proud by appearing in German and Australian Vogue, we wish Asif Azim good luck on both his endeavours. In the meanwhile, keep up the great work!

Summer make-up

Summer is one of those times when less is best. Trying to enhance your natural looks with minimal embellishment will work best under the unforgiving sun.

A matte powder over foundation with SPF is better than heavy foundation lotions and creams that will look patchy once you sweat a little.

Gloss is best for lips. Lips need protection as well and it would be best to apply a lip gloss or lip balm with an SPF of 15 or more to keep your lips looking fresh and pert.

Eye make-up is a zone of error in summer and you can avoid gaffes by sticking to near-neutral tones of eye shadow and waterproof mascara and liners. Make sure you carry eye-make-up remover with you so that you avoid dark circle which can be a natural consequence of waterproof eye make-up.

Pink is a shade that looks more natural in lipsticks in summer. A creamy lipstick will be friendlier on the lips than matte lipsticks and will also last longer.

Nails are best kept short and practical at this time of the year. A lighter shade will save you the time in redoing your nails every now and then as the chips will not be obvious.

Leave your foundation or tinted moisturizer in the refrigerator. When you smooth it on, the heat from your face will melt it into your skin making it look like you have naturally perfect skin.

Smudged eyeliner or kajal can look great on summer evenings and you can get this effect by heating the tip of your eye pencil with a lit match just before lining your eyes.

Bright and dark shades of nail polish look better on feet in summer, especially if you plan on walking around barefoot or in open sandals.

Summertime can be great for your skin if you follow a few basic rules to take care of those areas that are most prone to damage-skin, hair and eyes. Keeping yourself adequately hydrated, adding essential nutrients to diet to avoid the heavier fats and proteins, taking plenty of vitamin C in the form of citrus fruits and juices, and getting the minimum 8 h of sleep can help you going through summer with good looks and great relaxation.

Hot temperatures and on-the-go kids can make it tough to stay stylish in summer. That’s why you’ll love these ten fast, mom-focused beauty and hair tips, which make looking good a breeze! Go ahead, customize them to enhance your personal assets and natural beauty. Then sit back and enjoy a beautiful summer.

1. Try a slick ponytail to accentuate your facial features. A deep-side part looks fresh and modern (and is easy to do when the kids are tugging at your arm!). To prevent flyaways, spritz with hairspray. Don’t forget an easy-to-blend foundation with SPF to even out your skin tone and keep you looking polished.

2. Get a glow on by exfoliating. Keep a washcloth or buff pad at-the-ready for everyday use. If you don’t have an exfoliant, make your own by moistening ½ cup of sugar with olive or sunflower oil. Use small circles to slough away dead cells and reveal new layers of skin. Or, try a mask of four to six aspirin crushed into a paste with water. Let dry, rinse and reveal the new you!

3. Beat the heat with a French braid that keeps your hair off your neck. Make the braid, leaving your bangs free. For a fun playground-to-party look, pull out small to medium chunky pieces from the braid and spray them with gel or hairspray and scrunch. Sweep bangs to the side and slip on a thin headband or tie on a piece of ribbon.

4. Protect your skin with a sunscreen with minimum 15 SPF. If you burn using SPF 15, go higher. Look for a UVA and UVB blocking ingredient such as Zinc oxide, Titanium dioxide, Parsol 1789 or Helioplex. Apply a shot-glass worth of sunscreen 15 to 30 minutes before going out, being sure to cover your chest, hands and ears. Don’t forget a lip balm with SPF, too!

5. The messy bun that ruled the fashion runways this season is perfect for on-the-go moms! To get the look, apply a shine serum to towel-dried hair. Work it through to enhance natural texture. Next, use your fingers to rake hair back at mid-height or at the nape of the neck. Twist into a knot and secure with bobby pins. Don’t worry about making it too neat – random ends sticking out are what make this style look relaxed.

6. Stay on-trend with pink lipstick. Pick a shade that complements your skin tone. Lighter pinks work on women with pink or cool undertones, and warmer pinks look best on skin with yellow undertones. A creamy lipstick formula will last longer than gloss.

7. For a mom manicure on the fly, remove chipped polish and moisturize your hands, rubbing olive oil on your cuticles before pushing them back. File your nails short and practical. Then whip on a light polish that won’t show chips as much as a dark shade.

8. Try this trendy, mom-friendly twist on a basic bun: Make two side-by-side ponytails at the back of your head. Then wrap each tail around the other’s base (hiding the elastics) to create a figure-eight bun. Secure to your head with hairpins and a few spritzes of hairspray.

9. Before you polish your toenails, pamper yourself with an Epson-salt and scented oil foot soak for 10 minutes. (Read a magazine while you wait!) Then remove dry skin from legs and feet with a homemade mixture of olive oil and kosher salt or raw sugar. Rub in an upward motion for two to three minutes, then rinse, moisturize and polish!

10. For natural-looking waves, massage volumizing mousse through freshly washed hair. Weave locks into a thick braid and allow hair to dry. When dried, gently finger comb to loosen into waves. If you have to time to blow dry, apply gel and then slowly blow dry while scrunching hair.

Our small screen is a kaleidoscope that presents various colours of life.

Summer days are great for relaxation and recreation. The sun is literally brighter, the days are longer, and the warm weather is ideal for just spending time with family and friends or for taking off on sightseeing or shopping jaunts. But, you would want to remember that summer is also a time when different rules of beauty care apply. The hot, lazy days can take their toll if you are not too careful about your regimen. Here are a few tips for getting through summer while looking as good as you would want to feel.

Everyone wants a flawless, glowing and healthy complexion. Exfoliation is essential to clear skin. You can use white sugar. Almost anywhere you go will have white sugar readily available. After cleansing, wet your face with water, then pour a small handful of sugar grains into your hand and rub over the face. Use as you normally would a facial scrub. It keeps those annoying blackheads and blemishes at bay.

If your skin tends to be dry, use honey with the sugar; this way, you exfoliate and moisturize simultaneously. Honey serves as an excellent facial mask for those with dry, parched skin or anyone who needs an oil-free moisturizer.

The obsession for pale skin has survived through ages of civilizations in Asia. Every morning and every evening before your normal skin regime apply lemon juice all over your face and neck the way you would a toner. Out of environmental concerns, skip the cotton ball, applying the juice with your fingers directly.

Twice a day and within two months’ time, you will see results. Be sure to avoid contact with the eyes, though. You probably won’t turn significant shades lighter overnight, but gradually uneven splotches and acne scars do fade.

Lemon juice works as an astringent and thus also eliminates blackheads and helps to even out skintone. It also seems to retard the growth of pimples and other blemishes.

Are you looking for a natural beauty enhancer? – Then your ultimate choice has to be watermelons! The watermelon health facts and watermelon nutrition facts are much talked about but the watermelon beauty facts are little known. Yes, watermelons can play a vital role in enhancing your looks too! It can act as a natural moisturizer as it is an effective skin toner and also skin tighter.

The best way to utilize the watermelon is to use it as a face pack, especially after a hot summer days’ outing. Try this invigorating watermelon face pack to give your face the cool, clean and youthful look. Take one cup of watermelon pulp and apply on face and neck. Rinse face and neck after 15 minutes. Your skin becomes soft and supple.

If you do get sunburned, apply aloe vera extract or lotions containing aloe vera. The effect of aloe vera will soothe your skin and will also help you heal faster. If you do plan to spend more time in the sun following sunburn, it may be wise to apply a cream containing zinc to help heal the sunburn overnight.

The heat brings out fresh batches of bugs, especially in tropical climes like in India. Insect repellants are a must if you want to avoid looking like you have a localized attack of Chicken Pox.

For a day at the beach, or if you plan to spend the whole day shopping, fill a misting bottle with a mixture of water and a little toner and spritz your body and neck for a quick cool off. Remember not to spray your eyes!

Exfoliation is a must to clear away dead Cells that can otherwise clog up your pores and cause unsightly pimples that can spoil your summer look. Use a scrub that does not dry your skin or make your own; sugar mixed with a little olive oil is very natural and skin friendly.

Feet need to look good in summer! They are more visible now than at any other time of the year. Scrub your feet with foot scrubs or make your own with some granular salt or sugar and olive oil. Rubbing this into your legs in a gentle upward motion will have dual effects of exfoliating dry skin and oil massaging your legs as well.

Apply body oil or other light oils on heels at night, wrap in cotton gauze and leave it on overnight for soft and sexy feet.

If your toenails have turned yellow, now would be good time to soak them in a basin with some mild bleach.

On really hot days, you can use a hydrating toner instead of a moisturizer that feels heavy.

“People relate to me largely as a newscaster on Channel i ” says a smiling Mishu Rahman who also holds posts in the sister concerns of Channel i — as head of operations in Impress Audio Vision Ltd and business development manager, Impress Telefilm Ltd.

The spunky young lady has done the spadework for the recent setting up of Impress Audio Vision Ltd.

The company, under the aegis of Mishu has to its credit, 16 CD launches within the first few months. Among the recent launches are Bhatir gaane matir taane (which features Ayub Bachchu rendering the songs of Abdul Alim), Shurer Uttarsuri (a tribute to talented fathers who have passed on their skills to their offspring), Lampor Aalo (a DJ mix with Lalon’s songs) and lastly Shafin Ahmed’s Kotodin dekhini tomae (a tribute to his father, legendary music composer Komol Dasgupta).

Amplifying on this subject, Mishu says, “The focus is on innovative ideas in marketing music and uplifting the image of Bengali music worldwide. The other element is the need to familiarise the younger generation with the rich heritage of Bangla music.”

Music is dear to Mishu’s heart. This probably accounts for her career switch from Unilever Bangladesh Ltd. Explaining this tricky decision, she asserts, “I thought that if I was good enough for an MNC, I could use my experience and musical background to promote local culture. Thereby my creative ideas would be well employed.”

Though Mishu has her hands full with Impress and newscasting, she still manages to squeeze in time for extra-curricular activities. She was the Bangladesh representative in 2004 for a one month-long, international visitors’ programme sponsored by the US State Department for young leaders in the economic and social arena. The group met up with Colin Powell, then secretary of state as well as leaders from a varied socio-economic and political arena.

In addition to these laurels, Mishu also bagged the Lux-Channel i Performance Award held in Dubai in 2005. Clearly the ambitious Mishu believes in thinking big, which should give her an edge in the competitive entertainment industry.
